Welcome to Well. Let’s meet this moment together.

You’ve decided that telehealth therapy is right for you — it’s accessible, affordable, expands your choice of therapists beyond your immediate area, and saves you a trip to the therapist’s actual office. You’ve chosen Well because you feel confident that we center your needs and rely on evidence-based methods to give you top-quality therapy. But what can you expect? What does the process actually look like?

For new patients, we look to balance your time with an interest in working together to create a therapy roadmap best suited to you. To start, you’ll submit your name and email address to Get Started. A trained Care Coordinator will contact you by your preferred method of contact to schedule an intake session. This is important an important step, because a single therapy model will not work for everyone, and we don’t feel it should be your responsibility to figure out your needs alone, or that impersonal data can be fed to an algorithm to match you with a therapist. Your initial relationship with your therapist should be personal, not hidden behind technological screens. In this initial welcoming consultation, we will work to determine what brings you to Well, what your experience with therapy or support groups has been in the past, and what initial concerns and desires you have. From the outset, Well centers you as an individual, so we can work together to find a therapy structure that works best for your schedule and needs. Therapy should not be one-size-fits-all, and you should not be left alone with limited information to find a therapist; our goal is to use the technology available to get the best possible therapy for you on your terms.

Following this initial consultation, we work together to determine which therapist and therapy plan would work best for you. This is vital for us, as we feel you should not have to do all the work to match yourself with a therapist, often signing up for multiple consultations based on limited information provided for you to sort through; we also believe that a dialogue and understanding of your needs will help us build a therapy plan that works so you can feel better sooner.

At Well, we pride ourselves on a diverse selection of licensed clinical psychologists, LMFTs, and Psychiatrists. We know that in many places it might be hard to find a therapist you identify with, and the main reason video therapy is so wonderful is that it expands your choices. Maybe, for example, where you live you struggle to find a therapist who identifies as LGBTQ+, and don’t feel your needs can be met in your local area, or you find yourself frustrated with how able-bodied therapists respond to and empathizes with (or, well, fails to empathize with) your experience. Maybe you would love to build community and support space in group therapy, but this is not an option in your area — or you are unable to access these spaces. These are some of the limitations of in-person therapy that Well can help you address; we aim to make a diverse range of therapists available to you regardless of where you live.

We aim to provide individualized therapy that suits your needs, and we use the technology available to us to do that. From the very start, we want to work with you to create a roadmap for therapy that works best for you, rather than making you make decisions on your own; we want to use technology to form connection with you, not distance us from each other. By speaking to a therapist over a secure video connection, you and your therapist (or your therapeutic group) can build rapport and community through a direct connection, allowing you to access personalized therapy from a space you feel comfortable in. We offer varied therapy plans tailored to your needs, even if they change; this allows us to provide the best fit for every person using telehealth technology, rather than simplifying therapy to a one-size-fits-all therapy plan pre-packaged and delivered. We want you to feel seen, and we want to partner with you at every stage of the process, keeping you intimately involved with your therapy roadmap rather than relying on an impersonal algorithm. Reach out to schedule your consultation today, and let’s get started together.
